Jim Tooey, a NJ native with a NY theater background, returned to show business after surviving a brain tumor and a replacement knee . He starred Off-Broadway in a ‘dramadrey’ that he co-wrote and produced about his life story called Two-mur Humor: He’s Malignant, She’s Benign, which proceeds went to a charity he started to help childhood cancer survivors. Called THE TUMOR HUMOR FUND.
His comeback film was Matthew Barney’s Cremaster 3., followed by the film RUNNING SCARED starring Paul Walker and Chas Palminteri as, Also in New York Jim starred in the comedy The Producers, by Mel Brooks, he also starred in many television shows such as, Guiding Light, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, David Letterman, One Life To Live, The Sopranos, Law & Order: SVU Foreign Exchange, Off Jackson Avenue, HBO’s Smash That Camera, He then moved to Los Angeles where he worked on the pilot Charley Murphy’s Law. To be followed by a verity of C/O starring roles in both television and film. After five years Jim moved to Louisiana to peruse his career, Jim’s credits there include such shows as TRUE DECTITIVE and TREME besides a variety of films. After returning to California he has done many parts in film and TV.
